A rescue boat manufacturer based at San Bernardino International Airport has acquired a Costa Mesa competitor headed by the very engineer who designed its products. The move will add eight new models to its line of watercraft.
Medina Holdings International Inc. (OTC: MIHI), the holding company of Medina Marine, entered into an agreement June 18 to buy the fixed assets of Modena Sports Design LLC doing business as Harbor Guard Boats LLC in Costa Mesa.
Modena manufactures fire and rescue boats. Modena is owned by MGS Grand Sports Inc. and Mardikian Design Associates, which are affiliated with inventor Albert Mardikian of Corona del Mar.
Medina Marine makes commercial fire, rescue, police and patrol boats, employing a handful of workers who primarily work on the fiberglass molds for the watercraft
