Logistics firm to merge locations -

A logistics company plans to move its operations in Ontario and Rialto into a larger building in Fontana.

Distribution Alternatives of Lino Lakes, Minn., leased a 597,000-square-foot warehouse-distribution facility at 9774 Calabash Ave. near Fontana, said Jim Koenig, senior vice president with CB Richard Ellis Ontario.

The seven-year lease, signed June 30, is worth $21 million, Koenig said.

Distribution Alternatives is making the move to streamline its Inland Empire operations, said Rob Davidson, president of The Davidson Cos. Inc., a full-service commercial real estate firm in Arden Hills, Minn.

"Efficiency, efficiency, efficiency," said Davidson, who represented Distribution Alternatives during the six-month lease negotiations. "The name of the game is efficiency.
