ANAHEIM - There are few truly memorable wins in the head-to-head series between the Ducks and Kings.
Under ordinary circumstances, the last one is usually the most memorable - and the Kings' victory last Thursday at Staples Center is no different. Except for the fact that, by beating the Ducks five days ago, the Kings tied a franchise record with eight straight wins.
They were going for No. 10 on Monday at Honda Center - one more than the previous team record - and fell short 4-2 in what could be the two teams' most significant meeting in recent memory.
Teemu Selanne, Ryan Getzlaf, Saku Koivu and Corey Perry scored for the Ducks, whose 10th straight home win tied their own franchise record.
Oscar Moller and Anze Kopitar scored for the Kings, and Jonathan Quick made 29 saves in the losing effort.
