GIRLS BASKETBALL: Diamond Ranch toys with Bonita, 61-32

POMONA - When Diamond Ranch High School girls basketball coach Michael James was reminded that Friday's 61-32 victory over Bonita wasn't against just anyone, that it came against the No. 2 team in Division 3A that had lost for just the third time (twice to his Panthers), he just shrugged.

Not to mention that the Panthers have been without Boise State-bound forward/center Janelle Kearney, who's been sidelined since Jan. 15 with a knee sprain, though she's expected back for the playoffs.

It mattered little, though.

Panthers sophomore Erika Williams scored a game-high 19 points, followed by other strong contributions from Patrice Patterson (14 points) and Chelsea Barnes (12 points), and the Division 2A second-ranked Panthers (21-2, 6-0) clinched their 10th consecutive Miramonte League title.
