Sampling may be discouraged in grocery stores, but the Reign are taking a different approach regarding the marketing tool. In a very unique campaign, the local minor league team is allowing local companies an opportunity to sample season tickets.
It's yet another way how creative our local venues are getting to get fans into the arena or race tracks. Dave Oldham, executive VP of sales and marketing for the Reign, is betting a six-game sample will lead to additional sales.
It's not like the Reign are in desperate need to get fans into the Citizens Business Bank Arena. The team is among the ECHL leaders in attendance. The season-ticket base, somewhere around 3,000, is solid.
