Pomona has deal for film project - Cameras to roll in city next week

POMONA - A mixture of Hollywood and Bollywood will be coming together here with some financial assistance from the city Redevelopment Agency.

City Council members, acting as the agency's governing board, on Monday gave unanimous approval to an agreement with filmmaker CMS Productions.

The city will provide a maximum of $13,225 to the company to cover

business-license fees for about 20 days of filming.

At Monday night's council meeting, Councilwoman Paula Lantz said film crews generally travel with many of the goods and services they will need such as catering services.

"They provide all of the food. My concern is that as part of this arrangement what are the guarantees they won't bring in caterers," Lantz said.

But Rudy Turrow, unit production manager and co-producer of the film, told the council the production company is committed to buying whatever it needs in Pomona.
