Eagles suffer disappointing tie to Western Christian

REDLANDS - Midway through the second half of their game against Western Christian, Arrowhead Christian Academy boys' soccer senior forward Joshua Phillips dribbled past his defender and went on a run down the right hand side of the field.

Phillips sent in a low cross to the middle of the box where junior striker Charles Izydorek connected with an impressive bicycle kick that was only nearly saved by the Western Christian goalkeeper.

This was just one of the many scoring opportunities created by the Eagles during their disappointing 0-0 tie Saturday afternoon.

"It was unacceptable," said senior captain Kyle Saunders. "This win would have put us in first place."

ACA (12-5-4, 4-1-1 Christian League) had the first real opportunity just eight minutes into the game when Izydorek floated a free kick into the box where it skimmed off the head of Ryan Reeves and into the hands of the goalkeeper   Read Full Article...
