Blackhawks improve against Oak Hills

REDLANDS - If there was one thing to be taken away from the Citrus Valley High School boys' soccer team's game against Oak Hills High School Thursday, it was that they are getting better.

Almost a month removed from their first meeting with Oak Hills, a 4-1 road loss, the Blackhawks showed how much they have improved in a gritty 4-3 loss.

"I thought we played really good today," said Citrus Valley junior defender Brandon Vargas. "Last time we lost by three goals to them, but this time we fell behind by three but came back to make it a one-goal game."

Never giving up seemed to be the theme for Citrus Valley all afternoon, as they found themselves in a hole almost from the start against an Oak Hills team that fielded freshmen, sophomores and juniors.
