REV pulls out 73-70 rivalry victory

REDLANDS - Kevin Williams has hit a lot of 3-pointers in his time, but none were bigger than the one he nailed Wednesday night.

In the midst of a back-and-forth thriller in the second installment of the crosstown rivalry this season, Williams lifted the Redlands East Valley High School boys' basketball team from the grips of an epic collapse.

The senior guard's 3-pointer from the corner with five seconds left provided the winning points as the Wildcats defeated Redlands High School 73-70 in front of a boisterous crowd at Terrier Gym.

Despite leading by as much as 12 in the fourth quarter, REV (15-9, 7-4 Citrus Belt League) watched the frenetic Terriers come all the way back to tie the score at 70-70 on steal and layup by RHS senior guard Matt Green with 10 seconds left in the game.
