REDLANDS - The Christian League season is slowly developing into an unwelcome ritual for the Arrowhead Christian Academy boys' basketball team.
The recipe for the young and inexperienced Eagles seems to be make a game of it in the first half, stay within striking distance through much of the second half but slowly fade down the stretch.
It happened again Tuesday night, as ACA (6-16, 0-5 Christian League) trailed by only seven at halftime but could not manage to get any closer, eventually falling 52-39 to Aquinas High School.
"It's tough to keep the kid's heads up right now," said ACA Head Coach Mike Allen, whose team has dropped eight of their last nine games.
With four sophomores and a freshman playing key roles for the Eagles, ACA has struggled to hand ball pressure and aggressive defenses and Tuesday night was no different
