Just a short time ago, we knew little, if anything, about Barack Obama.
In the last several months the media have taken an in-depth look at this now president-elect and have shared their findings with the America public. Sometimes that history of Obama's life was truthful and other times it was tainted with an agenda and proved less factual and more opinionated.
It is hard for us as adults to decipher this information and probably nearly impossible for a child to understand the life of this, our next president of the United States. It is fitting, then, that a book was written for ages 7 to 11 that clearly shows, without political influence, this history-in-the-making life.
The title is "Barack Obama, Son of Promise, Child of Hope," and the book was written by Nikki Grimes and illustrated by Bryan Collier.
