Hall class' impact felt near and far - RIVERSIDE SPORT HALL OF FAME: Honorees include an Olympic champ and pro, college stars.

RIVERSIDE - The Riverside Sport Hall of Fame's Class of 2010 represents the Hall's traditional mixture of achievement within and beyond the city's borders.

The class of seven -- Tony Adams and Bob Rule from the pre-1970 period, Luann Ryon, Wayne Gross and Malcolm Smith from 1970 and beyond, Dennis Rogers from the coaching category and Don Edwards as a contributor -- will be officially introduced today at a luncheon at California Baptist University, with the induction banquet taking place May 10.

It represents one change in the Hall's way of doing things. In previous seasons, inductees were pre-1960 or post-'60.

The inductees:

Ryon was the accidental archer, enrolling in an archery class at Riverside City College in 1971 because the tennis classes were all full. She was good enough, steady enough, to win the Olympic gold in 1976 in Montreal, as well as a 1977 Women's World Championship and a host of state and national honors   Read Full Article...
