Morais' night ends early after crash -

ANAHEIM - Suzuki's Ryan Morais crashed moments into his AMA Supercross Lites' heat race, knocking him out of the Monster Energy FIM World Championship Round 3 at Angel Stadium on Saturday.

Morais, of Murrieta, went deep into Turn 5 on Lap 1 and was squeezed by Chad Flores and Cameron Rodriguez before falling on his right side.

"(Morais) got landed on so I hope he's all right," added Jake Weimer, who won the Lites main event.

Morais was down for several moments before being helped off by on-track personnel. He did not finish the race and failed to reach the starting gate for the Lites class last-chance qualifier, effectively ending his evening.

Attempts to reach Morais were unsuccessful. His status is uncertain for this week's event in San Francisco.

"It's hard to see a good guy like (Morais) get hurt," said Trey Canard, who finished third in the Lites class main event.
