LA QUINTA - The first outright lead of his PGA Tour career?
Yawn.
A second straight bogey-free round in as many days, in his just third PGA Tour event?
Snore.
Alex Prugh is playing it so impressively by the book this week at the wacky, wet Bob Hope Classic that he said he's boring himself.
"Honestly, today was a really boring round," said Prugh, who improved to 21 under par to take a 1-shot lead in Saturday's welcome sunshine.
"It's not a bad thing. I was hitting the driver very well, and I kept on hitting fairway after fairway after fairway. It's just kind of boring."
Boring is working.
After sticking close to the lead the first two rounds, Prugh went ahead and snatched it before losing it and snatching it back when he went sank a 2-putt birdie on No. 17 at La Quinta Country Club.
That dropped him to 7-under 65 on the day and gave him a slim lead over fellow rookie Martin Flores and Bubba Watson, who entered the round with a 2-stroke advantage on Prugh
