Fowler (70) just 4 shots back -

LA JOLLA - Now, that's more like it.

The two season-opening missed cuts seeming a distant memory this week, Rickie Fowler stayed on theme Saturday, with more sturdy, solid play in the third round of the Farmers Insurance Open.

A second consecutive 2-under-par 70 on the notoriously testy Torrey Pines South Course has the hotshot 21-year-old rookie at 207, 4 shots behind leader Ryuji Imada entering today's final round.

"I'm right where I want to be," said Fowler, who recently moved to Las Vegas from Murrieta. "I'm just gonna go out and see what we can do, try to put up a good round tomorrow."

Current Murrieta resident and Fowler pal Tom Pernice Jr. fought to regain traction in a rocky round that knocked him out of 10th and into 25th.

Playing in the same group as Phil Mickelson, who carded a not-uncharacteristic down-and-up 70, Pernice used a pair of closing birdies to put him at 2-over 74   Read Full Article...
