SAN FRANCISCO - Fullback Stanley Havili picked a timely juncture to have a breakout game.
The redshirt junior has been favorably appraised as an NFL prospect should he opt in January for the draft, but he continues to insist he'll return to USC, even if his Emerald Bowl work will only enhance his reputation.
"I'm back," he said after the game, noting that he won't be swayed by Saturday. "Not at all. I'm coming back, for sure."
His six catches (for 83 yards) were a career high, and the two touchdown receptions -- on a 53-yard screen pass and a 5-yarder -- were his first scores of the year.
Havili averaged 13.4 yards on his 16 catches during the season. Utilized mainly as a blocker and receiver, he also averaged 7.2 yards per rush on his 19 carries. He missed two games with a shoulder injury.
