This is a blog entry by UC Riverside women's basketball player Jessie Schmuckal.
I like to think of each season as a journey, a long road that begins in October and ends somewhere in March. Where that road ends, we cannot know for certain. We only have hopes, dreams, and goals that we wish to accomplish along the way.
Now on each road there can be certain distractions that come along or bumps and potholes the team must overcome that tests the strength and character of the team. And there are other times on the road, when it is just smooth sailing and things finally seem to be going in the right direction.
I would like to think that our team has finally passed over all the potholes and road blocks we will find this season. At the beginning of the year, we were hopeful of our progress and confident in our abilities. However, as people began to get injured, the team was tested on their mental and physical strength as we battled against tough competition
