Offensive woes cost UCR again - UC DAVIS 60, UCR 50 Though Austin scores 22, he makes just 1 of 10 free throws in a home setback.

RIVERSIDE - The blueprint that earned UC Riverside a key Big West win last weekend has apparently disappeared.

Five days after an impressive grind-it-out victory at Irvine, the Highlanders fell back to their losing ways Thursday against UC Davis.

A poor offensive effort, highlighted by the incessant sound of free throws clanking off the rim, and a failure to finish out another close game, cost the Highlanders in a 60-50 loss to the Aggies.

The loss was the third straight at home for UCR and keeps the Highlanders firmly entrenched in the Big West basement at 2-6.

"That was as frustrating a basketball game as I've ever sat through," Coach Jim Wooldridge said, pointing to another lackluster offensive performance that looked all too familiar.
