Trojans embarrass rival Bruins - USC 67, UCLA 46 Lewis scores 24 as USC wins the 230th meeting between the teams.

LOS ANGELES - There are two major college basketball teams in Los Angeles, one that is eligible for postseason play and another that still plays like it.

USC decimated UCLA, 67-46, at Pauley Pavilion on Saturday to win its first game since its athletic department announced self-imposed sanctions on the men's basketball program two weeks ago.

USC led the 230th meeting between these two schools from start to finish, and so thoroughly thrashed the Bruins on their home floor that their coach, Ben Howland, referred to the 21-point loss as an embarrassment to the program.

"I'm embarrassed for our team and I feel embarrassed for the program, for the former players and coaches," Howland said. "That's all you can say about this effort today. It's embarrassing, and I told the team that after the game. I'm responsible."
