Roundup for Feb. 4 -

Sarah Hurlbut started a fifth-inning rally with a solo home run as the California Baptist University softball team defeated Simpson, 8-2, Thursday in the first round of the Lancers Invitational.

In the second round, the Lancers belted three homers and routed Bethany, 14-1. Kendall Gorham hit her fourth homer of the year, while Ashley Boyd and Caty Reeves each hit their first.

Emma Holden tossed a two-hitter and struck out 11 in the opener for the tourney host Lancers (4-0).
