Coyotes pull away from Stanislaus -

SAN BERNARDINO - Never one to mince words, Cal State San Bernardino men's basketball coach Jeff Oliver was to the point on Friday night.

Yes, his team closed out the game with a dominating run. Yes, they played with effort and were more physical than they had been. But mostly, they made a lot of really bad decisions that nearly cost them.

Playing a sloppy game filled with the type of mistakes that can drive a coach mad, the Coyotes managed to salvage a 71-57 California Collegiate Athletic Association victory over Cal State Stanislaus at Coussoulis Arena.

"We did a lot of really dumb stuff," Oliver said. "We played harder and were more physical, but we didn't play with our heads. We just did stupid stuff."

And it nearly cost the Coyotes.

Facing a team that was inferior in talent, the Coyotes played down to their opponent for much of the night before a 20-4 run in the final minutes turned an upset special into a perceived blowout in the box score   Read Full Article...
