Cal State has rough shooting game -

SAN BERNARDINO - Steve Gaston was sure of one thing Tuesday night. As bad as Cal State San Bernardino played, today's practice would be even worse.

For the Coyotes, it's a pretty safe bet that a majority of that practice will be spent at the line learning how to make free throws.

Shooting just 58 percent at the foul line and unable to box out on rebounds for much of the evening, Cal State succumbed to Cal Poly Pomona, 63-59, in a California Collegiate Athletic Association game at Coussoulis Arena.

The Coyotes missed four of five free throws in the final two minutes as their chief rivals escaped late with a victory that dropped the Coyotes back into a tie for first in the CCAA with Humboldt State.

"Practice is gonna be rough," Gaston said, shaking his head. "They have been on us all year about it, and we took an 'L' because of it.
