Kobe struggles as Phil sets mark -

LOS ANGELES - Phil Jackson knew he'd "probably be coaching somewhere else some day" that July afternoon in 1998 when he rode his motorcycle off into the sunset and away from the Chicago's Berto Center.

But after six NBA titles in nine seasons, Jackson couldn't imagine he'd "get the chance to coach a team and players as good" as that Bulls dynasty led by Michael Jordan, now the managing director of basketball operations for the Charlotte Bobcats, Wednesday's visitor.

But he has. Jackson's Lakers, with the NBA's second-best record, figured a way to win even though all-time leading scorer Kobe Bryant was limited by his sprained ankle to a season-low five points in a 99-97 nail-biter that wasn't secured until Jordan Farmar's steal and stuff with 4.5 seconds left.
