Players recall Phil as a Bull -

LOS ANGELES - Two of the younger Lakers do not agree with their coach that no one in this generation would remember that Phil Jackson had a similar run just more than a decade ago as Bulls coach.

"I'm from Chicago," said backup guard Shannon Brown, who was 13 when Jackson won his sixth Bulls title in 1998. "I knew he never yelled at anyone. He was a great people person."

Jordan Farmar, just 12 in 1998, said he had to be up on the Bulls and their coach. After all, he was named for Bulls star Michael Jordan, having been born just three days after Jordan scored 63 points in a memorable playoff game at Boston.

"I even knew about the triangle," Farmar said.

Challenging Schedule

Jackson has his Lakers talking, and maybe even believing, that the five-game stretch that began Wednesday -- three at home and two on the road -- may be as tough as their 5-3 road trip.
