Lakers meet their match - NUGGETS 126 LAKERS 113 Sizzling Billups (39) puts Denver up 2-0 on season.

LOS ANGELES - Forget that inside-out Lakers offensive gameplan that beat Charlotte Wednesday.

Forget the revenge factor, too, against Denver as the Friday night Staples special the Lakers cooked up for a Nuggets team right behind them in the West backfired big time.

Not outside-in for these Lakers on this night, just outside, outside, outside.

One problem: That's what the Nuggets do, and did, in a 126-113 shootdown of the Lakers for a 2-0 season series edge. Even without injured leading scorer Carmelo Anthony, the Nuggets do it especially well if Chauncey Billups is on fire, unconscious and "in the zone" as he was on a career-high 39-point night.
