Swine flu vaccine in nasal form arrives at Inland health departments -

Limited shipments of the swine flu vaccine have arrived in the Inland area and some residents could receive it as soon as next week.

Officials at the Riverside County Department of Public Health announced Tuesday that they were among several health care providers who received the first doses of the vaccine for swine flu, also known as the H1N1 virus.

An estimated 18,000 nasal spray vaccinations are to be distributed among doctors and clinics throughout Riverside County.

No one has yet received shipments of the injection form of the vaccine, said Dr. Maxwell Ohikhuare, San Bernardino County's public health director. The San Bernardino County Department of Public Health has received about 2,000 nasal spray vaccinations, he said.

"We are all getting the same thing," he said. "It doesn't matter whether you're in Los Angeles County."
