Two plead not guilty in San Jacinto corruption case -

The wife and the sister of an indicted San Jacinto City Council member entered not-guilty pleas Friday to charges they funneled money into election coffers at the center of a lengthy Riverside County criminal grand jury indictment.

Marcia Lynn Mathews and an attorney for Shanda Lynn Mansperger, who had filed a waiver for her court appearance, entered the pleas before Superior Court Judge Harold F. Bradford.

The four other defendants in the case deferred their arraignments. Bradford set the next date for Feb. 19

Marcia Lynn Mathews is the sister of San Jacinto council member John Mansperger, and Shanda Lynn Mansperger is his wife.

All six defendants in the case before Bradford on Friday are related to either John Mansperger or Nancy Ayres, a San Jacinto school board member.
