Store offers build-your-own frozen yogurt by the ounce -

What's new: White Lime Frozen Yogurt in Temecula.

What it is: A self-serve frozen yogurt shop.

What it offers: Ten flavors of frozen yogurt and 40 toppings.

White Lime's self-serve concept is unique among Temecula Valley frozen-yogurt shops, said the store's owner Hannah Hong. It is something Hong hopes will give her business an edge in the competitive frozen-yogurt market, which began opening new stores throughout Riverside County a few years ago.

"You can create your own treat. It is a fun way to enjoy dessert," Hong said, of the self-serve concept.

Hong hopes the yogurt will draw health-conscious consumers because it contains less fat and calories than ice cream. White Lime offers a variety of fat-free, low-fat, sugar-free and dairy-free yogurts.

"It makes it more fun to eat it," Hong said.
