When Rita Peters first played a voice-mail from a Rachael Ray show executive, she figured it was either a crank call or a really wily bill collector.
Peters simply could not believe that Ray, a celebrity cook and household name, would actually be interested in featuring her bathroom on her television show.
The notion seemed ridiculous, far-fetched, and just too good to be true, recalled Peters.
"I thought it was a joke," said Peters, a longtime Quail Valley resident who serves on the governing board of the Menifee Union School District. "But 10 minutes later I thought, what if it is true? What if it is Rachael Ray?"
Lo and behold, it was not a prank. Ray, the television host known for her girl-next-door charm, was inquiring about Peters' water closets.
One loo is decked out with her favorite cartoon pin-up Betty Boop. And then there is the "Phat Girl Bathroom" as Peters calls it
