The University of California regents are expected to announce the name of UC Riverside's new chancellor Thursday morning.
The regents, who are meeting at UCLA, will assemble in closed session first to approve the recommendation made by UC President Robert Dynes. They also must agree on the new chancellor's compensation.
"There's nothing to announce at this point," UCR spokeswoman Marcia McQuern said Tuesday.
Government sources said the new chancellor could come from Idaho.
The University of Idaho confirmed Tuesday that their president, Timothy White, had informed the Idaho Board of Regents and senior university leadership that "he had been approached by another institution."
At 4 p.m. Thursday, Dynes will come to Riverside to introduce the new chancellor to UCR faculty, staff and students in the University Theater.
UCR's previous chancellor, France Córdova, left in June to become president of Purdue University in Indiana
