A fire that broke out Tuesday at a Corona factory caused enough damage to prompt the temporary closure of the facility.
The blaze was reported at 9:26 a.m. in an evaporator near the rear of the Anaco plant in the 1000 block of El Camino Avenue, fire officials said. The evaporator separates water from the oil used to cut metal for some of the parts made by the company.
Flames damaged the area outside the building where the blaze broke out and an adjacent area inside the building. Both areas were closed off Tuesday afternoon and most workers were gone.
The cause of the fire had not been determined, and no damage estimate has been made, said John Medina, deputy chief of operations for the Corona Fire Department.
"The delay is that part of the building is structurally unstable," Medina said. "The business needs to stabilize the building before we can complete the investigation
