Superintendent given extended contract
Rialto Unified School District Superintendent Edna Davis-Herring has a renewed contract.
The school board Wednesday night voted 4-1 to approve the contract in open session after reviewing it earlier in the evening behind closed doors. Board Member John Kazalunas voted no.
The contract keeps Davis-Herring's salary the same, at $190,335 plus benefits. Deputy Superintendent Joseph Davis said the only major change is that it extended the length of the contract to June 30, 2012.
District to loan funds to child development
The board voted 5-0 to authorize a $1 million short-term loan to operate the Child Development Program.
The money will come from the general fund.
Child Development funds will be delayed for 2008-09 because the state Legislature has not adopted its budget
