Diversion tactics batter taxpayers -

There are so many instances of graft and corruption in government programs lately. After reading about how some of these acts are accomplished, I'm beginning to believe that they are a litany of diversion tactics at the expense of the taxpayers.

An example of late is the collection of an extra 10 percent on state income taxes from paychecks. We are still going to have this come back as deductions on tax returns -- what's the advantage of that?

How about the Army's contractor in Iraq keeping thousands too many people on the payroll, even as U.S. troops leave the country? This involves a $33.8 billion, 10-year deal with the taxpayers.

And, how about the $3 billion Cash for Clunkers fiasco that has shown that instead of people trading in the clunkers for fuel-efficient cars (which is what the program was supposed to accomplish), the majority have just traded trucks for trucks and SUVs for SUVs, indicating that the mileage savings are just 1 to 3 mpg over the clunkers   Read Full Article...
