Laud police kindness

A dear family friend, Rob Ramirez, 33, was diagnosed with cancer in November.

Rob was unable to work due to his medical condition. The Temecula Police Department was contacted and asked if it could assist this family by providing a few gifts for the Ramirez children, ages 4 and 9. The police department was very generous and wrapped several gifts that had been donated by our caring Temecula community.

The department took it one step further. On Christmas Day, "McGruff," along with two motor officers and three patrol deputies, came to the Ramirez residence and presented the gifts to the children. This special attention helped to make Christmas a memorable one for the family and took their attention away from Rob's illness, if just for a moment.

The surprised family expressed their heartfelt gratitude with smiles, tears of joy and hugs for all of the officers, especially "McGruff." The memories of this special Christmas will last this family a lifetime   Read Full Article...
