Respect voters
Regarding health care legislation, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., said "People do not understand. It is so big, it's beyond their comprehension" ("Less ambitious health bill urged," Jan. 21).
Is this another way to call the American people stupid for not wanting the government to take over their lives or to be talked down to anymore? If this health care legislation is so hard for people to understand, maybe the Democrats should have aired the process on C-SPAN like President Obama promised. Then, everybody would know what was going on.
Could it be that Americans don't like deals made behind closed doors that give pork dollars to the states of senators who hold out their votes?
It sounds like Feinstein and others should come down from the clouds and respect the voters who put them into office.
