MORENO VALLEY - Police are renewing their efforts to solve the mystery of a local woman who disappeared more than three years ago.
Kristine Nicole Hamilton was last seen with friends at a central Moreno Valley home on July 7, 2005, police said. She was 18 at the time, and she did not have a boyfriend, driver's license or car and did not take a cell phone or any possessions with her.
In three years, there has been no sign of her: no hits on her Social Security number and no contact with law enforcement agencies from other states, Moreno Valley police Sgt. Jaime Briones said.
"It is very unusual that she would be missing and no one has had contact with her in a three-year time frame," Briones said by phone.
The Hamilton family moved from Illinois to California in 2004. Kristine had completed high school in Illinois, but hadn't decided what she wanted to do next, said her mother, Barbara Hamilton. Friends said it was not like her to go off without telling anyone
