Eastvale residents weigh cityhood question -

EASTVALE - If there's one thing most residents of this would-be city can agree on, it's their delight at living in a place that puts family and community front and center.

"We just love it here," Michelle Preston, a stay-at-home mom of two, said on a recent Sunday morning.

Preston and her husband, Eric, were at the Eleanor Roosevelt High School gymnasium where their 6-year-old son, Elijah, was set to take part in a youth basketball game.

The Prestons moved to Eastvale from Ontario about 4½ years ago

"There's such a sense of community here," Preston said. "You go to the grocery store and you always see someone you know."

Ernie Lepe, a Chino transplant, said he likes the schools, the youth sports and the park system.
