Published on Thursday, February 04, 2010 By The Press-Enterprise A man was convicted of murder Thursday in a Riverside courtroom in the shooting death of a woman in 2007. Steven David Thompson, 48, was found guilty of the May 27, 2007, murder of Lisa Ward in Rubidoux, the Riverside County district attorney's office said in a news release. He was also found guilty of being a felon in possession of a firearm. He faces 75 years to life in prison when he returns to court for sentencing March 19. Ward was shot to death on El Rio Avenue in Belltown, an unincorporated community north of Rubidoux, during an attempted drug buy, according to prosecutors.
