Suit filed over Calvert land deal -

GLEN AVON - The Jurupa Area Recreation and Park District is suing the Jurupa Community Services District, charging the water and sewer agency with fraud and deceit in connection with the 2006 sale of property to Rep. Ken Calvert and his partners.

The lawsuit, filed Wednesday in Riverside County Superior Court, also names former community services district General Manager Carole McGreevy, former board members James Huber and Paul Hamrick, and Kenneth McLaughlin, who is still a board member.

The lawsuit seeks at least $1.5 million in general damages and unspecified special and punitive damages.

A case management conference has been set for Feb. 17.
