Jurupa-area youths benefit because USC graduate made the most of his football scholarship -

JURUPA - Darrell Rideaux made his football scholarship to USC pay off in the classroom as well as on the field.

He graduated with a bachelor's degree in sociology and a minor in psychology in 2003. He was a member of the 2002 USC team that won the Pacific-10 Conference title and beat Iowa in the Orange Bowl.

Now, Rideaux, 28, helps youth football players in the Jurupa Steelers Junior All American Football program. He is organizing a fund-raising golf tournament at the Hidden Valley Golf Club in Norco. He sponsors Jurupa-area players at the Matt Leinart football skills camp. He wants to help the organization pay for lights at Jurupa Middle School.
