Riverside County officials are holding a special public meeting next week to discuss proposed changes for the burgeoning Temecula Valley Wine Country.
The meeting from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday is in the theater of St. Jeanne de Lestonnac School, 32650 Avenida Lestonnac, just outside the Temecula city limits.
One of the meeting's purposes is to clarify proposed changes for facilities hosting special occasions in the 12-square-mile area east of Temecula, said county Principal Planner Derek Hull.
Certain venues hosting weddings, parties and other celebrations have sparked complaints from Wine Country residents, who blame the businesses for causing too much noise, traffic and other nuisances.
Changes proposed by county planners would apply to "special occasion facilities," legally defined as outdoor facilities, in conjunction with a home or winery, which may include a structure or building rented out for parties and other events
