Suspect to go to trial in killing of San Bernardino rapper -

BARSTOW - Friends of slain rapper Robert Mastrangelo applauded Thursday after a judge ruled there was enough evidence to send one of his two accused killers to trial.

"The people who applauded are about to be thrown out," warned San Bernardino County Superior Court Judge John Gibson, who presided over the preliminary hearing of Dudzai Prosper Pswati in a Barstow courtroom.

Pswati, 20, a Riverside resident and native of Zimbabwe, remains in jail. His bail is set at $3 million.

He will return to court Sept. 3. A second suspect, Jeffrey Berrouet, 23, of San Bernardino, is at large.

Both are charged with murder, kidnapping and robbery and face life in prison if convicted. Pswati is also charged with solicitation for murder of a witness in the case.
