Twins plead not guilty in man's fatal shooting
Identical twins pleaded not guilty Thursday in the fatal shooting of a suspected Fontana gang member in San Bernardino earlier this month, officials said.
Donte and Dorian Mack, 21-year-old San Bernardino men, appeared in San Bernardino County Superior Court via video and were arraigned on one count of murder each. The charges, involving the Aug. 11 killing of Devin McDavis, 26, at Foothill Villas, include special allegations of use of a firearm and street gang participation.
McDavis was shot in the head and back during a scuffle in the courtyard of the West Second Street apartment complex. San Bernardino police have said that he and a third man, Chrystopher Young, were fighting over a gang challenge when the Mack brothers appeared, one holding a handgun.
Young, 21, is being held on suspicion of a parole violation and has yet to be arraigned.
