Fans of pipe organ music can hear an up-and-coming Inland organist, while also assisting an area food pantry and social services provider.

A concert to benefit H.E.L.P. Inc. will start at 4 p.m. today at Grace Lutheran Church in Banning.

The concert will showcase the talents of Claire Caruso, a church musician since the age of 12. Caruso is a junior at the University of Redlands, where she is majoring in organ performance. She was selected to be the student performer at the university's Organ Spectacular in 2008 and plans to pursue a graduate degree in sacred music.

Caruso will play pieces by Bach, Handel and others.

She will perform on the church's pipe organ. The organ, which was dedicated in November 2008, has nearly 1,000 pipes housed in three chests. It took two years to restore and renovate the organ, which includes both vintage pipes and state-of-the-art electronic and fiber-optic controls.
