Published on Wednesday, March 10, 2010
By Staff Writer

The Banning Police Department is getting three new hybrid cars. The Banning City Council approved the department's request Tuesday night. The 2009 Chevrolet Malibu cars will be used by department administrators. Vehicles assigned to administrative personnel are driven the most, according to a staff report. The cars will be purchased from the Diamond Hills Auto Group in Banning at a cost of $73,146, or $24,382 each. The city is appropriating the funds from an Air Quality Improvement account. Three older vehicles in the police department's fleet will be taken out of service. - Erin Waldner ewaldner@PE.com http://pe.com/localnews/banning/stories/PE_News_Local_E_eb11_approve.350adc0.html   Read Full Article...
