As you're reading this, San Bernardino native Cheston Contaoi expects to be in France.
Not to do sightseeing, though the chance to enjoy the French Riviera is on his agenda.
Contaoi is in France to present his short film documentary "Cast" at the Cannes Film Festival, running Wednesday through May 25.
It was overwhelming to get word about his film's acceptance into the festival, he said. "It's nice to be recognized and accepted."
"Cast" follows professional bass fisherman Fred Contaoi, Cheston Contaoi's cousin, as he competes in the Wal-Mart Forrest L. Wood Tour on Beaver Lake in Arkansas.
"Filmmaking for me was out of passion, out of something fun," Cheston said. "Now, to be recognized internationally ... it's quite a feat to accomplish. It's realizing that not only you know about the film. Now other people are seeing it."
