Chargers have edge in QB experience -

SAN DIEGO - One reason the Chargers are favored in Sunday's playoff game is because there will be two quarterbacks on the field who can beat the New York Jets -- their own guy, Philip Rivers, and New York's guy, Mark Sanchez.

No knock on Sanchez, but that's just the way it is for a rookie. Even his own team prefers he not do too much for them, leaning on a strong running game and a stiff defense that expects to keep the score down.

If the Chargers have their way, of course, this game will be all about the quarterbacks, the more plays and decisions by both Rivers and Sanchez, the better for them.

"The difference between the two quarterbacks is the number of plays that Philip has (at his disposal) in the offense -- more than Sanchez," said Chargers coach Norv Turner, referring to Rivers' depth of knowledge as a starter for four years.

"The thing for us is to get (Sanchez) into things that he might have trouble managing."
