Where is AD during scandals at USC? - Jim Alexander

Remember the old Jerry Tarkanian line, back in the years when he was still winning games and picking fights with the governing body of college athletics?

"The NCAA was so mad at Kentucky," he rasped, "that it gave Cleveland State an extra two years' probation."

Take that line, insert "USC football" in place of Kentucky and "USC basketball" in place of Cleveland State, and you get a pretty accurate picture of what went on around Heritage Hall last week.

Only thing is, grounding your basketball team for this postseason, plus forfeiting wins and tournament receipts and giving up scholarships, probably won't pacify the authorities when it comes to the matter of what football players are getting and where they're getting it.
