Inland home prices decline again, but drop appears to be easing -

Housing markets in Riverside and San Bernardino counties are hanging on the coattails of Southern California as the region struggles to climb out of a pit.

Last month median home prices in the two Inland counties were lower than in December 2008, although all four other Southland counties had rising median prices, according to MD DataQuick, a real estate information service based in La Jolla.

But the good news was that Inland price declines were far less severe than earlier in the year.

Riverside County's median home price -- where half the homes sell for less and half for more -- was $196,000 in December, down 6.2 percent from a year earlier, while San Bernardino County's median home price was $154,000, which was 14.4 percent lower than in December 2009.
