USC quarterback Mark Sanchez is eager for practice to begin today, if for no other reason to have something new to watch on TV.
Sanchez is expected to start for the Trojans against Virginia in three weeks, but in the meantime spent all summer watching the three games he started in place of John David Booty last season.
"I know every play in all three of those games," Sanchez said Tuesday. "I'll look back and criticize myself when I'm watching and I think about limiting turnovers. But it really wasn't that bad when I look back at it.
"But I know I can do better than that."
Although Sanchez started just three games, it apparently made enough of an impression with the coaches who vote in the coaches' poll, as USC opened ranked No. 2.
"That's good," Sanchez said. "It doesn't mean anything in the long run but it's nice everybody thinks highly of us."
